Job Description

Bookkeeper

NOTE: This position is normally an in-office position, but will temporarily be remote due to COVID-19.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly invoicing and billing processes

Serve as primary contact for staff and vendors concerning accounts payable issues and inquiries

Oversee bank and credit card transactions and reconcile several bank and credit card accounts

Prepare monthly and/or quarterly financial reports

Manage receipts and expense reimbursements for clients and staff

Ensure all expenses are properly backed up with supporting records i.e., invoices and receipts

Scan invoices to virtual platform, record approved invoices in QuickBooks, deposit checks as needed

Actively participate in developing bookkeeping manuals, files, and systems

Manage ad hoc analysis on firm and finance team projects

Identify and execute process improvements with Director of Finance, such as automating systems and applying technology solutions to streamline accounting functions as needed

Organize and maintain digital and physical files in accordance with record management policies

Requirements

Detail and deadline-oriented

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to follow through on assigned projects

Highly organized with the ability to prioritize competing demands

Experience with QuickBooks preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients, as well as high ethical standards and integrity

Actively pursues learning and self-development to enhance personal and professional growth

Motivated by checking items off a to do list, and enjoys submitting excellent work before the due date

Enjoys the challenge of a learning curve, but never views routine tasks as a burden

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Must be flexible, resourceful and proactive

Demonstrate initiative and independent thinking

Demonstrate high sensitivity to confidential matters and ability to show tact and diplomacy

Computer skills: must be highly proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Proficient in standard business forms
