Insurance Verification Specialist Responsibilities & Duties
- Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits prior to medical procedures.
- Communicate with insurance companies to ensure accurate verification.
- Review insurance documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Update patient records with insurance information and verification status.
- Resolve any discrepancies in insurance coverage and communicate with necessary parties.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage limitations.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate pre-authorizations are obtained.
- Follow up on claims and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Generate reports on insurance verification metrics and workflows.
Insurance Verification Specialist Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in medical billing and coding.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
