Senior Accountant

Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Hybrid (DFW-based; occasional office presence; initial training period 100% on-site)
Compensation: $70K???$80K

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with advanced accounting expertise and leadership skills to join our client???s finance team. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and collaborate across departments to drive organizational success.



Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering growth and professional development.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and coordinating responses.
  • Data Integrity & Analysis: Oversee data analysis, ensuring accuracy in complex financial reporting, including large-scale reports such as economic surveys.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to streamline workflows.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Support the Controller in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Account Reconciliation: Oversee reconciliations for complex accounts (bank accounts, prepaid expenses, intercompany transactions).


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Sage Expertise: Strong experience with Sage accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, beyond basic VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills (restorative strength is a plus).
  • Team Leadership: Experience mentoring and developing team members, including potential interns.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor???s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
    • 3-5 years of related experience in accounting or financial analysis.
